Continuing the current on field and off field progress of the Western Suburbs Club,

the WSDCC Board convened a Strategy Day to reinforce and extend the goals expressed

in the Five year Plan, as displayed on the website.

Craig Beed, long time Parramatta Player, former Cricket NSW GM of Administration and

currently GM Operations and Member Engagement at Hockey NSW, donated his time and

skills to facilitate the day. The Club is very grateful to Craig and will continue to reap the

benefits of his expertise as the WSDCC Strategy refinement is announced and implemented.

On the back of Wests most successful on field season in a decade and the announcement of

Club Captain Jono Cook as the Sydney Premier Grade O'Reilly Medallist as well as Captain of the

Sydney "Team of the Year", President Dave Gilbert had moved to ensure that off field planning

continues to plot a successful course for our 123 year old Club.

The restoration of the Wests Club to it's on field 'glory days' is a firm objective, while encompassing

the broader corporate and community values as we build. President Dave Gilbert reflected the

bouyant mood of the Strategy Day when he reflected that he felt "a strong sense of cohesion

within the Board to continue to achieve our objectives".

The Strategy Day was held in the Wests Ashfield Boardroom on Saturday, April 28th. All Board

Members attended, except for Sam Pararajasingham, who flew out to Sri Lanka on the day for

a well earned holiday. Raine & Horne Ashfield Principal, Tony Andreacchio, attended for most

of the session despite Saturday being his busiest day of the week.
